We have some holidays that are uniquely American-I’m thinking of Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day but you could include our American Thanksgiving Day as well. Thanksgiving is almost here, and when I saw the video for this week on the schedule I thought maybe it was out of season for Thanksgiving Day. Then again, I reasoned that there are those relatives we see at holiday time that may feel “forced” to celebrate American holidays. They just don’t “get” the excitement or commemoration or the celebration of uniquely American holidays. Episode 27, “Forced to Celebrate?” offers a rebuttal to those who begrudge your wearing red, white, and blue, or each guest saying something they are thankful for this year around the Thanksgiving table. Go one and celebrate and commemorate these traditional American holidays! It’s one of those things that binds us together as Americans . . .and Happy Thanksgiving! ??
