I’ve been cyberMonday-ing for a week now ?, looking for the best deals. Likewise, I’ve been researching both sides of the Net Neutrality topic, looking for the side that I believe yields the greatest benefit to consumers. I’ve come down on the side of the free market on this issue. Common sense citizenship requires that I examine both sides of an issue to come to a conclusion, not just form a conclusion from what someone else has said. Just like I want the best deals for my purchases, I also want the freedom to choose the best internet service to meet my needs at a price I am willing to pay. More competition in the marketplace makes that happen. We, the People will decide what works and we stop paying for a service that doesn’t meet our needs. When we stop purchasing from a given company, that company goes out of business. Personally, I like technologic innovation to become available to me asap. Government regulations slow that process down. Consider both sides of the net neutrality issue. If you have only read one side of the issue, read several sources from the other side, then make your choice. Call your congressional representative. Let your voice be heard. That’s common sense civics and citizenship at work.
