Maybe you have the same questions rolling through your mind as I do about the children at the border. Has anyone asked mothers what they are doing to protect their little ones as they make a journey that is roughly the distance between Laredo, TX, and Boston, MA? Or why the mother choses to take one or more children while leaving others behind? I’m not looking to start an argument. I have a problem with the knowledge that if I left my kid in a locked car, a citizen would call the police but I am supposed to lend permanent support to people who are putting their children at terrible risk to enter this country illegally with no basis to seek asylum. How about the 4,000 innocent American children who are separated from their mothers by abortion and that somehow that type of “legal” separation is rendered to be ok? Or single mothers who must work because the father of her children “walked,” leaving innocents behind with no support? Where is the outrage over these children who are our fellow American citizens?
A country with no borders is not a country. We are a country.
So, where is common sense civics and citizenship at play in this country on this issue? ??
