The best post-election analysis may be your own, not someone else’s. Why? Because you can think for yourself, make observations, and use deductive reasoning. More on that in a moment.
As an illustration, the newspeople you trust give you THEIR thoughts. But you have your own thoughts on the matter, so why not ask yourself what you think? Remember, newspeople are paid to give you their analysis during a show, in a news rag, or online. These are forms of entertainment. If you scribble your own thoughts on a napkin with a good cup of coffee nearby, who is to say that their conclusions are better than yours?
Additionally, you have been observing what your state or others have been doing. Is what you witness a constitutional process? How involved is your state legislature in the process? The National Conference of State Legislatures (ncsl) gives you a lot of information on your state’s election administration system. No state runs their process exactly like another. It’s up to We the People to see if our respective state runs the election in a free, fair, and constitutional manner. When we take a few minutes to do our civic duty to be informed, we are doing what Americans were designed to do-run the country from the bottom up, not the top down like socialist countries.
Finally, as citizens, we can come up with our own analysis that is more reliable than an outsider’s view by using deductive reasoning. What is deductive reasoning? It’s a logical process of taking information and coming up with a conclusion. If your information is either false or simply a good guess, it is impossible to come up with a conclusion that is true. So much of what we hear first in the news turns out not to be true. That is why you need to look for true information, even if it means waiting, to come up with a logical conclusion that is accurate.
Without a doubt, you can think for yourself, make observations, and use deductive reasoning. That is why the best post election analysis may be your own.
