Thank you for returning to Common Sense Civics and Citizenship. What a week! I am looking closely at the events concerning the former President of the United States. My intention is to seek out the facts and the constitutional lens from which this event must be viewed.
A raid is a serious matter for any American citizen. While no one is above the law, you and I must remain on the side of the law. That is, how we feel about people in positions of power should not enter into what we might like to see happen to anyone in either party.
I am waiting to see what great legal minds and constitutional scholars have to say. I hope you will be doing the same. Remember, the politician, press or the professor is not your first line of truth. You and I must search for the legal and constitutional truth of a grave matter such as this. If you are a praying person, this would be a good time for that action as well, following our forefathers’ example in difficult times.
