So, are Americans hopeless victims of our circumstances at this point in history? Keep in mind that victimhood is not a strategy to keep liberty.

It’s incredible how some of us embrace the work ahead (which is what eternal vigilance requires), and others see us as sunk. “We are doomed,” they say. “We cannot get America on the right track again,” they complain. “Woe is me” defeatism won’t work. Victimhood is not a strategy to keep liberty.
We Are Not Victims of Our Past
“It’s someone else’s fault! No, it is not. We grew up at some point and kept repeatedly putting the same people in office. Long ago, when civics stopped being taught in school, we stopped caring. If your school doesn’t teach American civics, what did you do about it? Parents in my town hire me to teach civics to their children. If we perceive ourselves as victims, other government systems are ripe to take us over.
Whining is a Waste of Time
The time we waste whining about the state of our nation is the time that others are moving in to replace our natural rights, which, according to the Declaration of Independence, are given to us by God. Reread the Declaration of Independence. That’s our DNA. Natural rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are our birthright, kept only by eternal vigilance. No one keeps your liberty for you. It is your responsibility to guard it every day.
Do you vote for freedom to build your own life and your nation, or do you cast a ballot for the “government” to take care of you? Those who wish to take money from others they do not earn aren’t guarding their liberty. They are enslaving themselves to politicians who promise them the moon on a silver platter but eventually replace liberty with tyranny.
Instead of Victimhood As A Strategy, Accept Responsibility; Turn Things Around
We the People, only have ourselves to blame. We let the politicians, the press, and professors lead us instead of doing our homework to secure eternal vigilance over our liberty. Americans do the things that enable us to be servants to the leaders instead of how our Founders intended our nation to run (the leaders are to serve us). We disregard what is going on. America, we are not victims! We are living what we have chosen and who we have chosen. When We the People turn it around, it will indeed be turned around. It takes leadership in our precincts, towns, cities, counties, states, and in the nation.
Change Your Mindset from Victimhood to Victory
Never think that what you do is not enough. It takes a small percentage of the people to grow up, get up, and accept the challenge to pursue liberty. That’s what happened in 1776.
- Change the way you get news. Widen your horizons.
- Think clearly. Change what habits you need to have to think as a sober-minded person. Get physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger.
- Read and consume intelligent material, not gossip rags or emotional diatribes.
- Become a volunteer. Poll watchers, election judges, and other volunteers are needed this year. Volunteer at local schools and spread patriotism through books, music, or other interests.
- Read your founding American documents. Know your rights and vote for people who do the same.
