You are gifted like no other. Developing your unique talents means that you have invested in yourself and have a great deal to share with your community and country. No one else can do the work like you can in the way that you can. Developing yourself and your unique giftedness is an act of love you give to the world around you.
In the USA, the government doesn’t pick your area of expertise for you. (A communist government chooses your work for you). You have a choice to develop a desired area of talent for future employment.
To exercise Common Sense Civics and Citizenship in the area of work, it’s important to value education and training. Whose voice do you listen to? The one saying that there are no jobs? The voice that says stay home and collect a check from the government for not working? Remember this: some people make money by keeping you from job hunting through the daily negative news. Someone is getting those available jobs. Why shouldn’t it be you? Another point; if the government can promise you money (i.e., welfare, unemployment compensation, etc.), it can also take that money away.
Common Sense Citizenship values training, but it also is willing to pursue a less desirable job until the right position becomes available. Why? Because you gain valuable experience, you won’t get sitting at home watching tv or being on your phone. Life has so much more to offer than just eating and entertainment.
Today, I heard a public official say that stimulus checks stimulate the economy because people go out to dinner and buy things. Those stimulus checks are actually borrowed money, aka debt, that our great-great-grandchildren inherit. While I understand the need for assistance at the beginning of the pandemic, employees are now in great demand. Our talents and services are needed to stimulate the economy. Earned money is not borrowed money. It is the actual stimulus that our post-pandemic economy needs. Keep in mind; we are waiting in long lines for service because not enough people want to work. We have all we need except the gifts, talents, and labor of our fellow citizens.
You will stand out from the others, and soon employers and customers will want your services. Why? Because a stellar employee is highly desired. They also get better pay. Your efforts will reap benefits in the long run.
This is Common Sense Civics and Citizenship.🇺🇸
