How are you gearing up for the election night? What’s your game plan? Here are a few options, which one resonates with you the most?
– Hunker down with your favorite snacks, clicker, and a cell phone
– Go to work and check in on the returns during break time
– Party hearty with plenty of food, friends, and fun
– Skip the returns; watch a movie or sports
– Meh, whatever
My Election Night Watch Plan
I’m going “full election watch party” with myself as the guest. This is an interesting night as I observe commentaries, maps, patterns, guests, and predictions (that may be wrong). My husband is a TV and newspaper kind of guy, so that’s where he will be. On the other hand, I would drive my husband crazy with my flipping back and forth to a dozen or more news sources. I like to see the variety and summarize in my mind who has the best coverage style. I’ll have a computer screen, cell phone, radio, podcaster opinions, and social media. Instead of making it a tense night, I plan to have some fun with the American tradition. Yes, some of this is serious business, but I’ve learned a lot from observing the process over the years. Participation is fun and makes you wiser for the next time around.
We do not live near family, but I’m sure plenty of texting will happen between us.
What Is Your Election Night Watch Party Plan?
So, do you plan to participate in some way in the election returns? Tell us your way without electioneering (no naming politicians, candidates, or political parties) or name-calling—no additional links. Enjoy your Election Watch Party!
We have several CSCC participants working tirelessly at the polls. We’re grateful for your dedication and hard work on this long day/night!
