Why are veterans important? Because our Veterans faithfully served our country, reminding us that freedom is not automatic. We are protected by men and women who sacrifice and serve with honor. They are called “heroes,” not only by family but by Americans who appreciate fellow citizens with strength and courage that seems to come from beyond themselves. On Veterans Day, we honor their service.
Many have seen how veterans downplay their success and hold memories close to their hearts. They always remember to never leave a fellow warrior behind. And they did all they could to keep that oath.
Veterans as Examples of Courage and Humility
Veterans matter because their examples of selfless service can propel us toward higher goals. These incredible people have inspiring stories to share in an era where humble heroes are seldom acknowledged. They help us put the trivial into perspective by demonstrating what service looks like in real life.
Why Their Service Still Matters Today
Veterans’ stories remind us that patriotism is more than a word — it is a responsibility. As we reflect on Veterans Day, let’s thank those who served, listen to their stories, and honor the American values they upheld. To all our veterans: thank you for your service to our country.
Share a Veteran’s Story
If you have a favorite veteran, please tell us briefly who they are, where they served, and what they mean to you.
And thank you to all our veterans!
