Here we go again… more talk of gun control due to the mass shooting and murders in south Florida. The students and teachers who were shot didn’t have guns. Remember the people in the Florida nightclub? They were not armed. Neither were the grade school children at Sandy Hook or the Columbine high school students. What about the concert goers in Las Vegas or that Texas church mass shooting? Nope. Not one of them either. Let’s not forget that a truck can be a weapon as it was in NYC last October. What do all of these horrific scenarios have in common? Right. The innocent people did not have guns. Depraved minds aren’t stupid. They choose their targets to get the maximum horrific impact using those who can not defend themselves. Common Sense Civics and Citizenship points to some facts. 1) We have a God-given right to defend ourselves and second amendment rights in this country as well 2) The goal of “gun control” has yet to be achieved because criminals will always find a way to get a weapon. 3) Criminals prey on the unsuspecting and those least able to defend themselves. Think about this issue seriously and defend your position when your city or state talks about gun control or when it come up in Congress. That’s just Common Sense Civics and Citizenship.
